Policy Committee members help define The Cannabis Alliance’s policy decisions and legislative priorities and help create and organize messaging around our top legislative issues. Committee duties may include helping to prepare for legislative sessions, conducting legislative bill research, preparing commentary, help drafting bills and (if comfortable) testify at legislative sessions on behalf of The Cannabis Alliance. Additional duties may include helping to create a voter’s guide and organizing a lobby day, in conjunction with the volunteer and events committee.Regulatory Committee
Similar to the Policy Committee, Regulatory Committee members assist in defining The Cannabis Alliance’s regulatory priorities and help create and organize messaging around our top regulatory issues. Committee duties will include staying on top of rules, emergency rules and different regulatory agencies such as the LCB, DOH, WSDA, Clean Air agencies and other state and local agencies as needed. Duties may also include researching rules, preparing commentary, help drafting response letters and (if comfortable) testify at hearings on behalf of The Cannabis Alliance.Education Committee
This committee helps create programs that educate, inform, and stimulate membership professional development – making The Cannabis Alliance the primary learning and knowledge source for Cannabis professionals in Washington State.Events Committee
The events committee helps identify, support and coordinate events that The Cannabis Alliance should be involved with in Washington State. Including, but not limited to finding proper venues, identifying event needs such as food, A/V, etc and helping with ticketing. The Events committee will work in tandem with the Volunteer committee to help with staffing, set-up and break down of any events.Communications Committee
This committee assists with promoting The Cannabis Alliance through online, social media, print and media outlets, as well as helping to create a robust monthly newsletter for our membership.Fundraising Committee
This committee provides guidance to and participation in fundraising and member recruitment efforts to support the work and goals of The Cannabis Alliance.Volunteer Committee
This committee supports The Cannabis Alliance with a variety of volunteer tasks and projects all over our state. Tasks can be as simple as helping us load/unload vehicles, event setup, checking attendees in at the registration table, or help staffing The Cannabis Alliance Booth at large events like CannaCon, Imperious Expo, etc. .
Host Committee Volunteers help us in the cities/regions where we have events throughout Washington State. To support the local community we want to utilize local vendors, local businesses and local event help. Host Committee volunteer member’s help the Alliance find local venues, resources, volunteers and help with overall general local event assistance when needed (rental of tables, chairs, bartender, etc.).
