Ian Eisenberg, Uncle Ike's

Q1: What do you know about our organization? What makes our mission meaningful to you? Why are you interested in committing your time and energy to us?

I am fairly familiar with the Alliance, having attended meetings and been a member for some time. I am confident the Alliance can be the one industry trade group that represents a wide cross section of the industry which currently does not exist.

Q2: What do you think are the characteristics of a great board member?

A great board member is must be willing and able to invest the required amount of time and resources in to the organization. Too many people desire to sit on boards for the prestige and honor, rather than the work required to further the organizations interests.

Q3: Do you have prior board leadership experience? If so, what and when?

I have past board for profit and non profit board experience. I have served on boards ranging from public companies and venture backed startups to the Boys and Girls Club and community associations.

Q4: What specific skills, connections, resources, and expertise do you have to offer and are willing to use on the behalf of the organization?

I am deeply involved in the cannabis industry. I have been extensively involved in lobbying for various cannabis topics. I wish to continue to do so but within an organization that represents all three sectors of the industry.

Q5: Fundraising is a significant obligation of board service. Are you comfortable asking for money to help fund the mission of the organization?

I consider fundraising to be one of the primary functions of a board member. I have no qualms about asking myself and others for money. This is what a board member is supposed to do.

Q6: Do you have any worries or concerns about joining the board?

Q7: Do you have personal aspirations that could be enhanced by board service?

Q8: What is your motivation of being involved in the cannabis industry?

It is exciting to be part of a new industry which we can help shape for positive social change.

Q9: What professional or personal constraints on your time or service might you anticipate? What kind of autonomy do you have over your calendar?

My calendar is flexible.
