After nurturing an extensive dual career in compliance and complex civil litigation legal support working with some of Seattle’s most distinguished attorneys, Joy Beckerman has been involved in the industrial hemp movement for over a quarter of a century, and her extraordinary passion for this unique and versatile crop is contagious! She is the Principal Consultant at Hemp Ace International and holds leadership positions in multiple hemp and marijuana organizations.
Joy officially formed Hemp Ace International LLC in February of 2014. As the Principal at Hemp Ace International, Joy provides comprehensive industrial hemp and legal Cannabis market consulting, paralegal, networking and presentation services, both domestic and international. Joy brokers all things industrial hemp, including raw and processed fiber, building materials, textiles, cordage and yarns, apparel, paper, hempseed oil and bulk hemp food ingredients, derivatives, body care, and biocomposite fillers. In 2005, Joy was introduced to sustainable building and this deep interest and study led her to Hemp Technologies, builders of the first fully-permitted, zero VOC hempcrete homes in the U.S., for which she is the Lead Hempcrete 101 Workshop Instructor. For more information about Hemp Technologies Hempcrete 101 Workshops, go to www.HempcreteWorks.com. Joy is also particularly thrilled and honored to be a part of the Cannabis Museum writing and production team.
Joy received the Hemp Industries Association’s “2014 National Hemp Activist of the Year” Award and has been widely regarded for her outstanding work with the Washington State Legislature during the 2015-2016 legislative sessions, and in 2014 by way of educating Governor and the 147 Members of the Washington State Legislature with robust, multimedia Industrial Hemp Edu-Kits. Joy works directly with State and Federal legislators and policymakers, and has assisted multiple legislators (including from other States) with bill drafting upon request.
