Code Amendments for Marijuana-related Business Activities
The Board of Commissioners continued the public hearing on the draft marijuana rules to November 1. The hearing will start at 5:30 PM in the Hearing Room at the Douglas County Public Services Building, 140 19th Street NW in East Wenatchee. This hearing was set for “decision only” which usually means that no additional testimony will be taken. However, the Board has drafted substantive revisions to the original proposal and most likely will accept testimony on the revised proposal.
If you are interested in testifying you should prepare in advance of the November 1 hearing in case the public comment period is reopened. You can prepare by observing the following: your remarks will be limited in time, most likely three minutes; you will not be able to “use” time allotted to others; you will not be able to “reserve” time; you must accept the opportunity to speak when your name is called and cannot defer your remarks to later in the hearing; do not use your allotted time to engage in questions and answers-get your questions answered before the hearing; be respectful to the other participants in the process.
